Career in Hong Kong

Summer time has already arrived. I've been spending time vegetating a lot since summer holiday begun. And now it's been a while since I last wrote a blog which I decided to write again under such a peaceful environment at home, for expressing thoughts of mine.

Summer career life in Hong Kong

Since HKCEE written exams are all taken place in secondary schools in the end of May, the rate of summer job seeking unbelievably leaped forward in Hong Kong which most seekers are college students. From what I perceived, many of them seem to possess easy demeanor, but don't be fooled by their appearances, because they've been equipping themselves with high competence for making the most capable candidates for many employers during school terms, thus making the labour in a tense and agitated atmosphere again . Though, I believe that meticulous seeking will likely to widen their opportunity for employment. Nevertheless, From those who are post-secondary students, they may also encounter a series of rivalry with fresh graduates from universities, and this cannot be repudiated, as there are numerous of talents out there waiting to be hired. It is a certainty that, in the employer perspective, they frequently opt for recruiting graduates, a situation that often frustrates many secondary students.

In order to ameliorate this kind of problem, they should acquire working experience rather than salaries, this is a wise and reasonable way to the pave the way for the future. This means, working experience shall prevail in the end.

Unauthorized absence

Other than seeking employment, let's jump to a more serious problem for many part-time or summer jobs. During my four-month work period last year in McDonald's Restaurant, I recognised that many of my former co-workers had complete contempt toward their works. I would say this is irrefutably evidence of their stupidity. Because of their immature working attitude, this always tend to lead to resentment among co-workers, low morale to the team and others will have to bear the extra workload. Therefore, many employers are now likely to implement strict policies to tackle this setback, presuming employees to resign after certain quotas are used by him/her. However, policies is always just a trivial matter, and my main focus is on whether young people have self-discipline, obeying rules just for being considerate for others?
